Ny oljekatastrof i Mexikanska golfen?

Oljan handlas över 116 på söndagskvällen. Läget i Lybien verkar bli ännu mer oklart.

“The US Coast Guard is currently investigating reports of a potentially massive oil sheen 20 miles north of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion from last April.According to Paul Barnard, operations controller for the USCG in Louisiana, a helicopter crew has been dispatched to the site of the Matterhorn SeaStar oil rig, owned by W&T Offshore, Inc.Multiple reports have come in of a sheen nearly 100 miles long and 12 miles wide originating near the site.”

Merger Monday igen….

Saudi weekend

“While geopolitical risks remain in Bahrain and the commencement of United Nations intervention against Qaddafi is an obvious escalation of the conflict in Libya, the situation in Saudi Arabia looks relatively positive,” said Amro Halwani, senior equity sales trader at Shuaa Capital PSC in Riyadh. “The package is expected to have an almost immediate effect on different segments of the economy.”

Demonstrators across the Middle East, including Yemen, Libya, Bahrain and Syria are demanding civil rights, higher living standards and the removal of entrenched regimes. Libya was pummeled by more than 110 Tomahawk cruise missiles in the first phase of an assault by international forces intent on protecting civilians from attack by their leader Muammar Qaddafi and his loyalists.” (Bloomberg)

Odyssey Dawn

“At this point, it is notable that some of the target priority seems to be political in nature, like the initial anti-ground attacks by French forces. Considering the military nature of the mission, political selection of targets may become a problem if it continues. A question at the moment is how the different national forces are coordinating target priority. At this point, these issues are of minimal importance since it is highly likely that the initial phases of the intervention will be successful considering the state of the Libyan air force and air defense capability.”
